Hi!
I'm Amanda. :) I'm a human being and a trained holistic coach.
To "human being" you say, "Duh!"
And I reply, "What I mean is I'm more than a meat suit."
When you meet any being, I encourage you to pause and simply remind yourself that they are greater than the sum of their parts. They bring their wholeness everywhere they go, just like you. They are a million+ experiences carved into flesh and nerves, emotions, preferences, illness and health. They are inspired and creative and sad and skeptical. They are all the things you've ever been, and more than you can possibly imagine.
I'm no different. I'm an atrociously terrible speller. A native English speaker who became fluent in Spanish, and in the process lost a lot of English. (This happens, y'all.) I love good Mexican food, put Tapatío sauce on everything, and giggle when someone calls puppy paws "toe beans." I'm a few decades of wondrous and crappy experiences... all of which live inside me.
And that, my friend, is what drew me to holistic coaching.
"Coaching" can mean many things to many people. Here I'll use the International Coaching Federation's definition: "Partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership." It's often helping clients to identify self-limiting beliefs and patterns, so they can reach their goals and overcome challenges.
"Holistic" is two-fold. It means starting with the premise that your client is whole and resourceful, exactly as they are. And that no part of their lives functions in isolation. Work affects home, affects finances, affects health, etc. So, when you work with a holistic coach on a particular topic, it's likely to draw in other topics. Make sense?
Okay, I'll wrap this section up. And maybe trim it down in the future. Who knows! :)
